Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter for 2 days a week to join our dynamic hospitality team at the Little Taperia. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment, supporting the culinary team to deliver excellent service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to develop their skills within the hospitality sector. Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant settings is advantageous but not mandatory; full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure cleanliness standards are met
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Supporting the kitchen team with organisation and stock rotation
- Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout shifts
- Ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures efficiently
- Supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen during busy service periods
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices is a plus
- Experience in food preparation or cooking can be beneficial but is not mandatory
- A positive attitude towards teamwork and willingness to learn new skills is essential
