This role is all about giving everyone a warm and well-informed welcome as they arrive to our busy National Trust car park. The Car Park Assistant is there to make sure that people who might never have visited before can understand the layout of the place, and all that it has to offer them. From that first moment of a friendly greeting to the helpful sharing of practical information, you’ll be helping to give everyone an enjoyable and memorable day out.

What it's like to work here:Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you’ll be part of a wider team of car park assistants, welcome staff, and commercial team members. Winkworth Arboretum is famed for its stunning autumn season, with visitors travelling from across the country to experience the beautiful display of colours. At Winkworth, there is a new visitor welcome centre and car park, with café and shop for visitors to enjoy. As a Car Park Assistant, you will play a key role in creating a positive first impression for our visitors by managing the smooth operation of the car park, directing traffic safely and efficiently, providing information and assistance to visitors, and supporting the wider team to ensure an enjoyable and welcoming experience for everyone
What you'll be doing:We are recruiting Car Parking Assistants to join our team at Winkworth Arboretum during our busiest period. The role will commence in mid-September and continue until the second week of January. Working hours are 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, with regular weekend working required.
You’ll be working outside, meeting and greeting people as they arrive, helping to show them where to park and assisting with the use of our car parking machines.
You’ll be responsible for answering all manner of questions and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit. When interacting with our customers, you’ll inform them of the amazing work we are doing and what their money is funding, promoting local projects or promoting our cause.
As this is an outdoors role, you'll need to be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
