The Grammar School at Leeds is seeking a highly organised, proactive and personable CPOMS and Attendance Officer to join our Senior School administration and pastoral teams. This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of school life, where you will play a key part in promoting excellent attendance, supporting pupil wellbeing and ensuring our safeguarding and attendance processes are managed accurately and efficiently. Working closely with the Senior Deputy Head (Pastoral), Senior School Administration Manager, Heads of Year, tutors, medical staff and student support services, you will oversee the day-to-day management of attendance and absence procedures, maintain the school's CPOMS safeguarding platform, monitor attendance trends and provide high-quality data and reporting to inform pastoral decision-making. You will also build positive relationships with pupils and parents, supporting families where attendance concerns arise and helping to ensure that school procedures are applied consistently and fairly.
We are looking for an experienced administrator with excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment. You will be confident analysing data, producing meaningful reports and using systems such as Microsoft Office, with the ability to identify trends and communicate information clearly. Experience within a school or educational setting, together with an understanding of attendance monitoring and safeguarding processes, would be advantageous, although we welcome applications from candidates with transferable administrative experience and a genuine commitment to supporting young people. Above all, you will be approachable, resilient and collaborative, with a professional, customer-focused approach and a willingness to continually improve systems and processes.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the life of one of the country's leading independent schools, working within a supportive and dedicated team committed to providing an outstanding educational experience for every pupil. If you are motivated by making a positive difference, thrive in a fast-paced environment and share our commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and excellence, we would be delighted to hear from you.
