We are looking to recruit a motivated, friendly and professional individual to join our team as a Catering Assistant. The role will be based primarily within the Roland Levinsky Building on the University of Plymouth's main campus.
About the role
Under the direction of the Unit Lead and as a valued member of the catering operations team, you will support the day to day delivery of a high quality, customer focused, cost effective and efficient retail catering service. You will carry out a range of routine catering duties, helping to ensure a welcoming environment and consistently high standards of service for students, staff and visitors.
This is an annualised hours contract working 37 hours per week for 35 weeks per year on a permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with an interest in catering to join our friendly team. You will support the day to day operation of the catering service, helping to prepare and serve high quality food and barista coffee, while maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation and customer service.

You will:
- Ideally have experience in a catering, hospitality or customer service environment with a friendly and customer focused approach
- Play an important role in supporting the smooth and efficient delivery of our catering service and in providing a welcoming experience for customers.
A commitment to maintaining excellent standards of food presentation, cleanliness and food hygiene is essential as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team, follow instructions and manage a range of tasks. You should be reliable, organised and flexible with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues when required.
