Job Description: Office Administrator
Company Overview
We are a well-established family business who have been operating in the North East region for over 40 years, specialising in road haulage & plant hire, working with companies within the construction, utilities and infrastructure sectors. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated team player to join our small head office team in Staindrop.
The successful candidate will ideally have at least 3 years proven experience and will understand the importance of accuracy and attention to detail.
Role Summary
As the Office Administrator your primary responsibilities will be assisting with keeping the company’s records up-to-date, answering incoming calls, dealing with queries and performing general office duties with a proactive approach and exceptional organisational skills that will help us maintain efficiency to ensure the smooth day to day running of operations in a busy office environment providing support to other staff and clients.
Responsibilities will include:
- General administrative duties such as managing incoming calls, filing, dealing with enquiries and resolving issues in a professional manner.
- Manage and process weekly, monthly and yearly compliance checks
- Monitor emails and respond to customers in a timely manner.
- Ensure documents are complete and accurate, and that any inconsistencies or errors are resolved.
- Provide support to colleagues in the logistics and plant hire departments and to management when required.
- Co-ordination of mandatory training.
Key skills, experience and/or qualifications required:
- Confidentiality is of the utmost importance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with confidence to liaise and influence at all levels
- Proficiency in the use of MS Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong organisation and planning skills
- Excellent attention to detail including strong typing skills combined with data entry experience to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Previous experience in a Plant Hire and or Haulage company is desirable but not essential
- Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle is required due to location of office
