Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electrical Site Manager to oversee and manage electrical installation projects on-site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
This role will primarily focus on fast-track retail fit-out projects, including both new builds and refurbishments, often within tight deadlines and live environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations for electrical projects
- Oversee fast-track retail fit-outs, ensuring delivery within strict programme timelines
- Supervise and manage up to 10 engineers, along with subcontractors on-site
- Produce and submit daily site reports
- Carry out and manage defect reporting and ensure timely resolution
- Monitor material levels, request materials, and ensure availability to avoid delays
- Manage and coordinate all site deliveries
- Maintain and enforce health & safety (H&S) standards at all times
- Attend and contribute to Main Contractor daily briefing meetings
- Maintain full and clear communication with the Project Manager
- Log, track, and report variations to the Project Manager
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets required standards
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders
- Identify and resolve any issues or delays on-site promptly
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical regulations and standards
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Electrical Site Manager or similar role
- Demonstrable experience delivering retail fit-out projects (new build and refurbishment)
- Experience working on fast-track programmes with tight deadlines
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and regulations
- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification (preferred/required)
- ECS/CSCS card (required)
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Willingness to travel and work nationwide
- Full UK driving licence (required)
Desirable Skills
- Experience working in live retail environments
- Ability to manage night shifts and out-of-hours working
- Knowledge of project management software
- First Aid certification
- Experience with energy-efficient or modern retail systems
Working Conditions
- Nationwide site-based role with frequent travel across the UK
- Fast-paced, high-pressure environment with strict deadlines
- Regular night shifts and weekend work may be required to meet programme demands
- Working away from home may be required depending on project location
Pay & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: £25.50 per hour
- Night Rate: £25.50 × 1.33
- Saturday Rate: £25.50 × 1.5
- Sunday Rate: £25.50 × 2
- Meal Allowance:
- £10 per day (breakfast)
- £25 per day (evening meal)
