Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable General Builder to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of skills across various trades, including carpentry, roofing, masonry, plumbing and electrical work. This role involves working on diverse projects, from residential to commercial builds, ensuring high standards of quality and safety are maintained throughout. The successful applicant will contribute to the realisation of building projects from inception to completion, demonstrating versatility and a proactive approach.
Responsibilities
- Digging out trench
- Undertake carpentry tasks such as framing, fitting doors and windows, and installing fixtures
- Carry out roofing repairs and installations with precision and adherence to safety standards
- Perform construction painting to prepare surfaces for finishing
- Install plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and fittings
- Execute masonry work including bricklaying, blockwork, and concrete finishing
- Operate welding equipment for metal fabrication and repairs
- Conduct electrical installations and troubleshooting in compliance with regulations
- Utilise hand tools and power tools efficiently for various construction activities
- Fabricate components as required for specialised building tasks
- Assist in site preparation, clean-up, and organisation of materials
Experience
- Proven experience in general building or construction work is essential
- Demonstrable skills across multiple trades such as carpentry, roofing, masonry, plumbing, welding, or electrical work are highly desirable
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools in a construction environment
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications is advantageous
- Experience working on residential or commercial sites will be considered an asset
- A valid relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship certification is preferred but not mandatory depending on experience
