The West Midlands Growth Company (WMGC) is the region’s economic development delivery organisation.
From April 2026, we will lead the delivery of regionally commissioned economic development activity aligned to the West Midlands Growth Plan, working in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority and local authorities.

As our new Future Workforce Analyst, you'll play a vital role within the Workforce & Future Talent team, providing analysis, insight, and intelligence to help ensure employer skills needs are clearly understood and reflected in regional economic development activities.
Working closely with employers, partners, and internal stakeholders, you'll gather and interpret labour market intelligence, analyse workforce trends, support skills proposition development, and help align training pathways with employer demand.

You'll Be Involved In:
- Supporting workforce and talent initiatives across the West Midlands.
- Gathering and analysing employer insight, labour market intelligence, and workforce data to identify emerging skills needs.
- Helping shape employer-led skills propositions that support business growth, inward investment, and regional economic priorities.
- Providing data-driven evidence to support policy development, commissioning activity, and strategic workforce planning.
- Working collaboratively with partners across government, education, and industry to strengthen regional skills provision.
- Supporting the development of intelligence
- Analysing employer skills needs, labour market trends, and workforce intelligence to support regional growth priorities.
- Producing reports, briefings, dashboards, and insight products for internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting the development of employer skills propositions and mapping workforce pathways to business demand.
- Maintaining CRM-based intelligence systems and helping track employer engagement and workforce trends.
- Identifying skills gaps and opportunities to improve alignment between employer needs and training provision.
- Providing analytical support for investment projects, growth programmes, and regional skills initiatives.
- Working collaboratively with WMCA, employers, providers, and partners to inform future workforce planning.
Essential:
- Experience analysing and interpreting data to support business or strategic decision-making.
- Experience producing reports, dashboards, or insight for a range of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience using CRM systems, databases, or data management tools.
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and build positive stakeholder relationships.
- Level 4 qualification (HNC/HND) or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of labour market intelligence, workforce planning, skills, or economic development.
- Experience using Power BI, SQL, or other data visualisation and analytical tools.
- Experience working within skills, employability, education, or economic growth environments.
- Experience supporting policy development, commissioning, or evidence-based programmes.
- Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
