Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Childcare Workers to join our company as part of our new home in Ayr.
This role involves supporting neurodiverse children and young people in a residential setting, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential. Prior experience working with children is preferred, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Duties
- Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people in the residential setting
- Assist with implementing individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs
- Support children with their personal development, including emotional, social, and behavioural needs
- Facilitate engaging activities that promote learning, socialisation, and well-being
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by adhering to health and safety policies
- Support children with daily routines such as meal times, homework, and bedtime routines
- Drive children to school, appointments, or recreational activities as required
- Record observations and progress notes accurately in accordance with organisational procedures
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the child's care
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive safely within organisational policies
- Knowledge of child development principles and care planning processes
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- IT literacy skills for maintaining records and completing reports accurately
- Compassionate attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts including evenings and weekends if required
- Relevant qualifications such as SVQ Level 3 & HNC in Social Care or equivalent are advantageous but not essential for all roles
