We are a well established, independently owned farm veterinary practice, proudly supporting local livestock farms and rural businesses. . Started in 2011, we are a growing practice, with branches in Carmarthen, Llangadog, Eglwyswrw, Lampeter and Whitland with ambulatory vets covering West Wales.
We are looking for a practical, friendly and organised Receptionist/Administrator to join our team and help keep our busy practice running smoothly.
The role will be mainly based at our Llangadog branch with some days in our Lampeter branch and is is offered on a part-time basis, working 3 days per week. The days will include Monday and Wednesday with some flexibility on the 3rd day.
This is a varied role providing a wide range of front and back-office services, working closely with our clients and veterinary team across two branch practices. A good understanding of rural working life and a willingness to muck in when needed will be important.
Key Responsibilities
- Answering the telephone and dealing with farmer enquiries in a clear, friendly and helpful manner
- Communicating with clients and vets by phone and email to support day-to-day operations
- Dispensing veterinary medications in line with practice procedures and regulations
- Arranging meetings, appointments and managing diaries as required
- Carrying out general administrative duties, including data entry, record keeping and filing
- Handling client and practice information with strict regard to confidentiality and data protection requirements
- Supporting the smooth running of the practice across both branch locations
About You
- Confident communicator with a down-to-earth, customer-focused approach
- Well organised, accurate and able to juggle a range of tasks
- Comfortable working in a busy, rural practice environment
- Reliable and flexible, with the ability to travel between two branches
- Willing to take part in a Saturday morning rota
- Welsh language skills would be an advantage
- Previous administrative experience essential
- Good geographical knowledge of West Wales advantageous
- Experience in a veterinary, farming or rural environment would be beneficial, but full training will be provided
Hours of work
Exact working hours will be confirmed each week as part of the rota, and will vary between either 8-4 or 9-5 each day.
The ability to fit into a Saturday morning work rota 08.30-12pm is essential, this will be approximately 1 in 5 weeks.
