Job Overview
We are looking for a professional, reliable and vigilant security officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, customers and property. Duties will include regular patrols, access control, monitoring site activity, responding to incidents and emergencies, completing accurate reports, and providing a professional customer-focused security service. Applicants must have a valid SIA licence, good communication skills, a professional appearance and the ability to remain calm and confident when dealing with challenging situations.
Duties
- Conduct regular security patrols of the premises.
- Monitor access and control entry and exit points.
- Ensure the safety and security of staff, visitors and property.
- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies and security concerns.
- Monitor CCTV and other security systems where required.
- Maintain accurate incident reports and daily occurrence logs.
- Challenge unauthorised persons professionally and appropriately.
- Carry out site opening and locking procedures where required.
- Report hazards, suspicious activity and security breaches.
- Assist with emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Provide professional customer service to clients and visitors.
- Follow Assignment Instructions and company security procedures.
- Comply with health & safety requirements and site policies.
- Liaise with management, emergency services and other security personnel when required.
- Maintain a professional appearance and high standard of conduct at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience in the security industry preferred.
- Experience in guarding, patrolling and access control.
- Experience managing entry, queues and crowd control.
- Experience dealing with incidents, conflict and challenging situations.
- Strong customer service and communication experience.
- Experience completing incident reports and occurrence logs.
- CCTV monitoring experience is desirable.
- Experience working independently and as part of a security team.
- Ability to remain calm, professional and confident under pressure.
- Experience in door supervision, hospitality, hotels, event security, corporate, retail, construction, hospitality or event security is advantageous.
