The Role.
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Office Manager to oversee the smooth day-to-day running of our office and support the wider business across people, processes, and operations.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the Finance Director, you will partner with department heads to ensure the office environment, people processes, and administrative operations run efficiently and effectively.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and driving continuous improvements across both office operations and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities.
Office Operations & Administration
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the office to ensure a productive and well-organised working environment
- Manage administrative processes, systems, and documentation across the business
- Identify and implement improvements to office procedures and ways of working
People Operations & Employee Lifecycle
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment through to (rare) exit
- Lead onboarding, inductions, and new starter setup to ensure a positive employee experience
- Maintain accurate employee records and oversee HR-related documentation and processes
Recruitment & Onboarding Support
- Support the recruitment process, including drafting job adverts, shortlisting candidates and interviews
- Work closely with hiring managers to ensure a smooth and efficient hiring process
Employee Support & Relations
- Act as a key point of contact for employees, supporting day-to-day queries and workplace matters
- Assist managers with absence management, disciplinary processes, and employee queries where required
- Promote a fair and consistent approach to employee relations across the business
Policies & Compliance
- Maintain and update company policies and procedures in line with current requirements
- Support compliance with employment legislation and internal company standards
- Ensure documentation and processes are consistently applied across departments
Training & Development
- Support performance review processes and employee development initiatives
- Identify training needs and coordinate relevant learning opportunities
Health & Safety
- Take responsibility for health and safety across the office environment
- Support wider health and safety practices in our Distribution Centre in collaboration with the Head of Operations
- Ensure compliance, documentation, and processes are maintained to a high standard
Workplace Environment & Culture
- Support and provide guidance to the Head of House role to maintain a positive and engaging workplace environment
- Manage office facilities, supplies, and general workplace standards
- Foster a collaborative and well-functioning office culture
Requirements
- Proven experience in an Office Manager, Operations, or HR role
- Strong understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle management
- Experience supporting employee relations matters (e.g. absence, conduct, general queries)
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach
Desirable
- CIPD qualification (or working towards)
- Experience in a fast-paced commercial or office environment
