We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Care Assistant – 1:1 Dementia Support & Observation to join our team. This role focuses on providing dedicated Level 4 one-to-one observation and support for residents living with advanced dementia who may experience distress, present with an increased falls risk, or require additional support to maintain their safety and wellbeing.
As part of this role, you will provide continuous support, reassurance, and supervision, ensuring residents remain safe, comfortable, and engaged whilst maintaining their dignity and independence. You will play a vital role in promoting residents' wellbeing through a calm, caring, and person-centred approach.
When dedicated 1:1 support is not required, you will work as part of the wider care team, providing high-quality care and support to all residents within the home.
Key Responsibilities
1:1 Level 4 Observation Support
As a Care Assistant providing Level 4 Observation Support, you will:
- Provide continuous 1:1 supervision and support for designated residents.
- Maintain continuous Level 4 observation, ensuring the resident remains within eyesight at all times to promote their safety, wellbeing, dignity, and comfort.
- Support residents living with advanced dementia who may experience distress, anxiety, confusion, restlessness, walking with purpose, or an increased risk of falls.
- Use a calm, compassionate, and person-centred approach to reduce distress and provide reassurance.
- Build positive and trusting relationships through patience, empathy, understanding, and effective communication.
- Encourage engagement in meaningful activities and daily routines appropriate to the individual's needs, preferences, and abilities.
- Observe, monitor, and promptly report any changes in behaviour, mobility, physical health, mood, or wellbeing to senior staff.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional observation records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Promote residents' dignity, choice, independence, and quality of life at all times.
General Care Duties
Where dedicated 1:1 support is not required, you will work as an integral member of the care team and will:
- Provide high-quality personal care and support to residents.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, nutrition, and hydration.
- Support residents' emotional wellbeing through companionship and meaningful interaction.
- Contribute to a safe, caring, and positive environment.
- Complete accurate care records and documentation using electronic care systems.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, nurses, families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding person-centred care.

Requirements
- Ability to work days, including weekends and bank holidays, as part of a rota.
- UK applications only – applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

- Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
