Job Summary
As a Powder Coater you will be responsible for applying coatings to metal components to achieve a durable and aesthetically pleasing finish. You will work closely with other team members to ensure all products meet our high standards of quality and client specifications. As a metal fabrication company we are bringing the powder coating in house. This would be a chance for a motivated person to come and take charge of a new department and grow this side of the business. All new state of the art equipment will be provided along with Gema spay gun, water wash spray booth and an 8.x3.5x3m gas fired oven.

Monday to Friday Days
7.00am – 4.00pm Mon-Thus, 7.00am - 1.00pm Fri, overtime and weekends available as and when required
Pay: Up to £16.00 - 19.00 per hour Depending on Experience
Key Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Clean, degrease, and prepare metal surfaces for mainly powder coating or some wet paint ensuring optimal adhesion and finish quality.
- Powder Application: Apply powder coatings using electrostatic spray guns, ensuring even coverage and adherence to specifications.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain powder coating equipment, including spray booths, ovens, and related tools.
- Quality Control: Inspect coated products for defects, ensuring finishes meet quality standards and customer requirements.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of powder coating equipment and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of chemicals.
- Record Keeping: Maintain ERP system to ensure job movements are recorded.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in powder coating within metal fabrication is essential.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with powder coating or wet paint techniques, equipment, and surface preparation methods.
- Attention to Detail: Strong eye for detail to achieve high-quality finishes and identify defects.
- Team Player: Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Health and Safety Awareness: Knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations and safe working practices.
