Job Title: Night Care Assistant (Working with Senior Carer)
Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Care Assistant to join our team in a small, friendly 15-bed care home. You will work alongside a Senior Carer to provide high-quality, person-centred care to our residents throughout the night, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.
This role is ideal for someone who is attentive, reliable, and able to provide reassurance and support during night hours.
Working Hours
- Night shifts: 21:00 – 07:00
- Includes a rota of every other weekend
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support with personal care needs, including toileting, hygiene, and comfort during the night
- Monitor residents’ well-being and respond promptly to calls or changes in condition
- Follow and implement individual care plans, ensuring care is delivered with dignity and respect
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided and report concerns to the Senior Carer
- Assist with repositioning residents and supporting mobility where required
- Support safe administration of medication under the direction of the Senior Carer
- Help maintain a calm, clean, and safe environment throughout the night
- Offer reassurance, companionship, and emotional support to residents who may be anxious or wakeful
Requirements
- Previous care experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
- Good communication skills in English
- Basic IT skills for record-keeping
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team and follow guidance from the Senior Carer
- A caring, patient, and compassionate nature
- Reliability and the ability to stay alert and responsive during night shifts
