Job Title: Forklift Driver/Warehouse Assistant
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
Responsible for: Ensuring smooth functioning of all warehouse concerning activities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all activities within the warehouse comply with Health & Safety and Quality policies.
- Operate forklifts, including Counterbalance and Reach Trucks, to handle goods effectively.
- Oversee the receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy in quantity, type, and quality against purchase orders.
- Manage stock movements within the warehouse, from receipt to dispatch, maintaining updated records in the SAP system.
- Prepare goods for dispatch, including proper packaging and labelling.
- Monitor and manage inventory through cycle counts, stock takes, and audits to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Load and unload vehicles promptly, adhering to maximum unloading time limits.
- Maintain warehouse equipment, including forklifts and machinery, ensuring they are serviced regularly and in good working condition.
- Allocate storage spaces effectively and ensure goods are placed in designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety within the warehouse to ensure a secure working environment.
- Coordinate with drivers, customers, and warehouse staff to streamline operations.
- Support compliance with HACCP, food safety, and other regulatory requirements.
- Adapt to changes and implement them as directed to improve workflow.
- Perform additional tasks necessary for the seamless functioning of the department or company.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in materials handling and warehouse operations
- Proficient in forklift operation and safety protocols
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems
- Strong mechanical knowledge and equipment repair skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage shipping & receiving tasks
- Basic math skills for inventory management and order processing

Pay: £33,500.00 per year
