Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
- Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management, food preparation, and cleanliness.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to create innovative menu items that reflect current culinary trends.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain inventory.
- Maintain an organised and efficient kitchen environment, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
- Help develop seasonal menus that utilise fresh, local ingredients while considering dietary restrictions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent skills in meal preparation and food presentation techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
- A passion for culinary arts with creativity in developing new dishes.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
