We’re The Bricklayers Arms – a freshly refurbished Joule’s Taphouse in the heart of Copthorne, Shrewsbury. Great beer, buzzing crowd, and a clear vision for food: keep it simple, seasonal, and done well.
We’re after a Chef who can confidently run the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, cook with care, and help us keep the quality high. From Sunday roasts to seasonal plates, your food will be part of what makes The Brick feel like home.

What you’ll be doing:
- Running day-to-day kitchen service when the Head Chef’s off
- Cooking fresh, flavour-packed food that fits our menu and vibe
- Keeping on top of stock, prep, and kitchen standards
- Supporting and guiding the small team with calm, capable leadership
- Working closely with the owners and Head Chef to deliver consistency and care

What we’re looking for:
- A solid Chef de Partie or Sous Chef ready to take charge a few days a week
- Someone who takes pride in proper food and running a tidy kitchen
- Calm, reliable, and good with people
- Experience in a fresh food pub or casual dining setting
- Food Hygiene Level 2 or 3 (or happy to get it sorted)
