A Chiller Engineer role with a difference
If you're an experienced Chiller Engineer looking for more than just another van-and-tools job, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
You'll be joining an established engineering business with over 50 years of experience, a strong reputation across the South East and a loyal portfolio of commercial clients.
The role is predominantly across commercial office buildings, with a good mix of planned maintenance and reactive work. Most importantly, the workload is planned 2–3 weeks in advance, giving you the opportunity to organise your working week rather than constantly reacting to the next job.
The Role
This is a genuinely varied Chiller Engineer position working across a portfolio of established commercial customers.
You'll be responsible for keeping critical cooling systems operating efficiently, carrying out planned maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding, installation and commissioning where required.
The role will involve working on a variety of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, giving you the opportunity to use your technical knowledge rather than simply carrying out routine maintenance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial and industrial chillers
- Working on air-cooled and water-cooled systems
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs
- Completing planned preventative maintenance
- Carrying out detailed fault finding and diagnostics
- Completing service reports and job documentation accurately
- Liaising with the office team regarding job progress and parts
- Maintaining excellent relationships with customers
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with current regulations
- Participating in the 1 in 12 on-call rota
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced engineer who is confident working independently and enjoys getting to the bottom of technical problems.
You'll need:
- Proven experience working on commercial or industrial chiller systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good understanding of refrigeration and air conditioning principles
- Ability to organise your own workload
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- F-Gas Certification – essential
- NVQ / City & Guilds in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
- Electrical qualifications would be advantageous
Why Consider This Role?
There are some real advantages here that you don't always find in engineering roles.
Forward-planned work. Paid travel. A £5,000 annual bonus. Birthday off. Private-use van with no tracker. Additional rewards for using public transport. Holiday homes after a year.
And you're joining a business that has been established for more than 50 years, with the stability and support that comes with it.
If you're an experienced Chiller Engineer in London and you're ready for a role that offers strong earning potential, better planning and some genuinely worthwhile benefits, this is well worth a conversation.
