We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical & Mechanical Fitter to join a skilled engineering team based in Rugby. Monday to Friday work with early finish on Friday!
Shift: Monday to Friday
Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30 - 17:30, Friday 08:30 - 13:00
This role is ideal for a competent Electrical & Mechanical Fitter with experience in electrical installation, mechanical assembly, wiring, and working from engineering drawings. You will be responsible for the accurate build, assembly, inspection, and testing of electrical and mechanical components, ensuring all work meets required quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out electrical and mechanical assembly work in line with engineering drawings, specifications, and instructions.
- Complete wiring, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems and components.
- Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, circuit diagrams, and mechanical assembly drawings.
- Build mechanical components and assemblies using appropriate tools, techniques, and processes.
- Carry out fault finding and repairs on electrical equipment.
- Perform mechanical fitting duties, including cutting, drilling, tapping, and general assembly work.
- Complete wiring looms and power supply construction.
- Build and assemble cooling systems/components.
- Carry out brazing where required.
- Complete self-inspection of all work to ensure quality compliance.
- Maintain accurate process documentation and records.
- Assist with stores, parts kitting, and stock-take activities when required.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to meet production targets.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience working as an Electrical & Mechanical Fitter, Electrical Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or similar engineering role.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
- Experience with electrical wiring, assembly, and testing.
- Strong mechanical fitting and assembly skills.
- Good understanding of engineering processes and quality standards.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and measuring instruments safely and correctly.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision and quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Follow all health and safety procedures, regulations, and company guidelines.
- Use PPE and safety equipment correctly at all times.
- Ensure all products and systems are tested safely.
- Maintain a safe working environment and minimise risks during engineering activities.
- Support and share knowledge with apprentices and less experienced team members where required.
