Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations. Duties
- Washing, cleaning, and sterilising pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
- Supporting chefs with ingredient organisation and stock replenishment to ensure efficient kitchen workflow.
- Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift.
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Ensuring all health and safety policies are adhered to at all times within the kitchen environment.
- Supporting the team during busy periods by helping with serving or other general duties as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen hygiene standards is advantageous.
- Experience in hospitality or serving roles can be beneficial for understanding customer service expectations.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends as required by the business needs.
