Are you an experienced MOT Tester looking for a well paid, Monday to Friday role within a friendly independent garage?
We’re looking for someone to join our growing team at TJD Automotive Repair.
This will primarily be an MOT testing role, carrying out Class 4 and Class 7 MOTs from our modern workshop in Fulready. When the MOT diary is quieter, we’d also like you to be comfortable helping with servicing, repairs and general technician work.
You’ll be trusted to manage your own workload, make fair and accurate testing decisions and get on with the job as part of a small and supportive team.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out Class 4 and Class 7 MOT tests
- Completing MOTs accurately and in line with DVSA requirements
- Recording defects and advisories clearly
- Keeping MOT records and procedures compliant
- Helping with servicing, repairs and general workshop work when needed
- Keeping your work area clean, safe and organised
- Working alongside the rest of the team to keep the workshop running smoothly
We’re also continuing to expand our services, with motorcycle MOT testing planned for the future.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with:
- A current MOT Tester licence
- Good MOT testing experience
- Class 4 and Class 7 testing experience
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Experience carrying out servicing and repairs
- The confidence to work independently
- A reliable and straightforward attitude
- A full UK driving licence
- A good team spirit

A Little About TJD
TJD Automotive Repair is an independent, family run garage.
We started nearly three years ago in a small unit in Tredington. Since then, the business has grown massively. We’ve moved into a much larger workshop in Fulready, expanded our team and opened our own Class 4 and Class 7 MOT station.
We work on all makes and models, with a special interest in Land Rovers. We’ve built the business around honest advice, good workmanship and treating both our customers and our team properly.
