Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our care home team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to our residents. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for overseeing daily care activities, ensuring residents' needs are met with dignity and professionalism, and supporting the overall wellbeing of those in our care.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support care staff to deliver outstanding care services in accordance with individual care plans
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, maintaining their dignity at all times
- Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
- Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, recognising any changes or concerns promptly and reporting them appropriately
- Lead by example in promoting best practices in hygiene, safety, and resident engagement
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and ensure compliance with legal and organisational standards
- Facilitate effective communication between residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff members to foster a supportive team environment
- Assist with organising activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation for residents
- Ensure the safety of residents by adhering to health and safety policies within the care home
Experience
- Previous experience working within a senior care or care home environment is preferred
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to adapt plans based on individual needs
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, colleagues, and external professionals
- Competence in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Experience in caring for elderly or vulnerable adults with diverse needs is preferred
