Evolve Contract Solutions LTD is seeking a reliable, trustworthy and detail-focused School Cleaning Operative to maintain a clean, hygienic and safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning classrooms, offices, toilets, corridors and communal areas to a high standard. As this position involves working within a school environment, a DBS check will be required.
Responsibilities
- Carry out general cleaning duties including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting and disinfecting surfaces.
- Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, staff areas, toilets, corridors and other communal spaces.
- Clean and sanitise high-touch areas such as door handles, handrails, desks and other frequently used surfaces.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste correctly.
- Replenish toilet rolls, hand soap and other consumables where required.
- Use cleaning equipment, chemicals and supplies safely and in accordance with training and COSHH requirements.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school.
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, hazards or health and safety concerns promptly.
- Follow all site-specific health and safety, safeguarding and security procedures.
- Work efficiently to ensure all scheduled cleaning duties are completed within the allocated time.
- Communicate professionally with school staff, colleagues and management.
Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience is preferred, particularly within a school, education or commercial environment, although full training will be provided.
- DBS check required. Applicants must be willing to undergo the appropriate DBS screening where necessary.
- Good understanding of cleaning techniques and safe working practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Reliable, punctual and able to demonstrate a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Professional and appropriate conduct when working within an educational environment.
