Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Carer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality care. As a Senior Carer, you will oversee daily care operations, supervise junior staff, and ensure that each client receives personalized and respectful support. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the standards of care and promoting a positive environment within the care home.
Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of carers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure consistent delivery of exceptional care.
- Develop, review, and implement individual care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, preferences, and health conditions.
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, medication management, and nutritional needs.
- Foster effective communication with residents, their families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure transparency and collaborative care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities in compliance with regulatory standards using IT systems.
- Support the training and development of junior staff to enhance their skills in senior care practices.
- Promote a safe and respectful environment by adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience working within a care home environment with a focus on senior or mental health care.
- Supervising or leadership experience in a healthcare setting is essential.
- Familiarity with creating and managing care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Valid driving license is desirable to facilitate transportation requirements if necessary.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Competence in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes is required.
Licence/Certification:
- NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (required)
