Job Title: Project Manager
Job Summary:
As a Project Manager at HRG Services, you will oversee and coordinate timber window restoration projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You are responsible for managing project teams, maintaining customer satisfaction, and upholding company values throughout the project lifecycle. Quick decision-making, adaptability, and taking full ownership of projects are essential.
This is a self-employed hybrid role, allowing you to work from home. However, you will occasionally be required to visit the warehouse and project sites to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan & Organize Projects:
Before starting any project, plan and organize all aspects to ensure smooth execution. Anticipate potential challenges and prepare accordingly.
Track Progress:
Keep project boards up to date by tracking schedules, budgets, and issues. Ensure the team stays on track, but understand the CRM board is just a tool—your role requires proactive engagement and critical thinking.
Communicate with Team & Clients:
Regularly update the team and customers on project progress. When in doubt or faced with a challenge, pick up the phone or contact relevant parties (team, customer, supplier) for quick answers. Avoid getting stuck and trawling through comments—act fast and find the solution.
Visit Project Sites & Warehouse:
Occasionally visit project sites to check on progress, ensuring the work meets our high standards. Also, visit the warehouse when necessary to manage materials or oversee logistical aspects.
Manage Budgets:
Keep projects within the set budgets. Solve any issues that could cause budget overruns quickly and efficiently.
Problem Solving:
When something goes wrong, address it immediately and keep the project moving forward. Think about the available options and make decisions with confidence. Remember, some decisions may require flexibility, but the important thing is to keep momentum.
Take Ownership:
This is your role, and it’s your responsibility to manage the project from start to finish. Take full accountability for project outcomes and don't hesitate to make decisions—this is not the director's role, it's yours.
Team Support:
Ensure the team has everything they need to get the job done efficiently and effectively. Provide guidance and foster an environment where the team feels empowered to reach out and collaborate.
Qualities Needed:
Organized: Stay on top of every detail of the project.
Problem Solver: Be proactive and decisive when issues arise.
Strong Communication: Regularly communicate with the team and clients. Use the phone and direct communication for fast solutions.
Leadership: Keep the team motivated and on track.
Adaptable & Solution-Oriented: Be flexible in your approach and always think ahead to prevent issues before they arise.
Accountable: Take full ownership of the projects you manage.
Positive Attitude: Maintain a good attitude, even in challenging situations.
KPIs (Success Metrics):
Projects are finished on time and within budget.
The team feels supported and confident in their work.
Clients are happy with the quality and experience.
Quick, effective problem-solving to avoid project delays or firefighting later on.
