TIME SERVED BENCH JOINER

The Role
Due to the continued growth of our joinery workshop, Shire Homes is looking for an experienced, time served Bench Joiner to join our team in Kendal. This is an opportunity for a skilled joiner to join a modern, expanding workshop, manufacturing high quality bespoke timber windows and doors for a wide range of properties and projects throughout Cumbria and the surrounding area. We are looking for someone who is experienced in traditional joinery and is confident manufacturing timber windows and doors from start to finish. Our work is varied and includes traditional sliding sash windows, casement windows, external and internal doors, frames and other bespoke architectural joinery. This is not a repetitive production line role. We are looking for a skilled craftsman who takes pride in their work and enjoys producing high quality bespoke joinery.
What We Are Looking For The successful candidate should:
* Be a time served and experienced Bench Joiner
* Have proven experience manufacturing timber windows and doors
* Have experience manufacturing traditional sliding sash and casement windows
* Be confident working from drawings and measurements
* Be capable of setting out and manufacturing joinery accurately
* Have a good understanding of traditional joinery methods and modern manufacturing techniques
* Have excellent attention to detail
* Take genuine pride in the quality of their finished work
* Be able to work independently as well as part of a team
* Have a positive, practical and can do attitude
* Be reliable and able to work to agreed timescales
