Bronze Age London is a Fine Art Foundry based in London. We specialise in producing high quality bronze sculptures for established artists and designers from all over the world.
Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Foundry Technician to support all areas of our foundry operation. This is a hands-on, entry-level position for someone who is physically strong, motivated, dependable, and hungry to learn.
The Foundry Technician will not be assigned to only one department. Instead, they will work wherever help is needed to keep production moving. This includes supporting the Mould, Wax, Shell, Pour, and Knock Out departments.
No extensive foundry experience is required. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to handle physically demanding work in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as a floater between all foundry departments, moving to different areas based on daily production needs.
- Assist with tasks in the Shell Department, including dipping, coating, handling, moving, and preparing shells.
- Assist with tasks in the Pour Department, including preparation and support activities associated with metal pouring.
- Assist with tasks in the Knock Out Department, including removing castings from shells, material handling, and cleanup.
- Move materials, tools, castings, moulds, and other production items throughout the foundry.
- Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, and repetitive work.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow instructions from supervisors and department leads.
- Learn the basic processes and procedures of each foundry department.
- Help wherever needed to prevent production delays and keep work moving.
- Perform other general foundry and production duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- No extensive foundry experience required; training will be provided.
- Must be physically capable of performing demanding production work.
- Must be willing and able to work in different departments throughout the day.
- Must be comfortable working in a foundry/manufacturing environment that may include heat, noise, dust, and heavy materials.
- Must be able to follow instructions and work safely.
- Must be willing to learn new tasks and take direction from multiple department leads.
- Must work well as part of a team.
- Must have a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
