We are seeking a motivated and skilled Mechanic **(MOT licence would be an advantage) **
In this vital role, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and performance standards. Your expertise will help keep our customers safe on the road while supporting the smooth operation of our service center. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure compliance with MOT testing standards.
- Perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance on various vehicle systems using hand tools and power tools.
- Carry out MOT tests in accordance with legal requirements, accurately recording results and issuing certificates.
- Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment and provide effective solutions promptly.
- Assist in heavy lifting tasks, including moving parts and equipment safely within the workshop environment.
- Maintain detailed records of all inspections, repairs, and tests performed for compliance and quality assurance.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a mechanic with a strong understanding of vehicle systems and repairs.
- Hands-on experience with MOT testing procedures and certification is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment required for vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of routine tasks in the workshop.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose issues efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Valid driving license; additional certifications related to automotive repair or MOT testing are advantageous.
