Cleaner / Housekeeper - Branxholm Park & Holiday Apartments
Branxholm Park is a luxury exclusive-use wedding venue near Hawick in the Scottish Borders. We are looking for reliable, hard-working and detail-focused Cleaner / Housekeepers to join our team.
The role is varied. You will help clean and prepare Branxholm Park before and after weddings, guest stays and events, as well as nearby holiday apartments in Hawick which are used by wedding guests and also let through Airbnb and Booking.com.
We are looking for people who genuinely care about cleanliness and presentation. Our guests expect a high standard, so we need someone who notices the details, works efficiently and can be relied upon to leave accommodation properly ready for the next guests.
Pay and hours
£13.50 per hour for staff aged 18 and over.
£9.00 per hour for staff under 18.
This is a part-time, zero-hours position and there are no guaranteed weekly hours.
Hours vary according to weddings, guest stays and holiday-let bookings.
Some work is known well in advance, particularly our wedding schedule. Holiday-let bookings can sometimes be made at short notice, so there may also be opportunities for additional changeover shifts with less notice.
The work is predominantly during the daytime and can include both weekdays and weekends.
There is no live-in accommodation and travel expenses are not paid.
Transport - please read before applying
Due to our rural location and the nature of the work, applicants must have access to their own car or reliable private transport.
Branxholm Park is difficult to reach reliably using public transport, and the role can also involve travelling between Branxholm Park and our holiday apartments in Hawick.
Please only apply if you can reliably get yourself to and from the properties for your agreed shifts.
What the role involves
- Cleaning and preparing bedrooms and bathrooms
- Making beds and preparing rooms for arriving guests
- Cleaning kitchens and living areas
- Cleaning and resetting Branxholm Park following weddings and guest stays
- Holiday-let changeovers in our Hawick apartments
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and cleaning surfaces
- Cleaning and presenting bathrooms to a high standard
- Emptying bins and replenishing guest supplies
- Tidying and resetting social areas
- Following cleaning and changeover checklists
- Checking that accommodation is properly presented before guests arrive
- Reporting damage, stains, missing items or maintenance problems
- Working independently when required and as part of the wider Housekeeping team at other times

Previous experience in hotel housekeeping, holiday lets, Airbnb cleaning, care homes, commercial cleaning or similar work would be useful, but it is not essential for the right person.
We are happy to train someone who has the right attitude, is dependable and genuinely cares about maintaining high standards.
For the right person, this can be a flexible role with opportunities to work across both Branxholm Park and our holiday accommodation.
