About the role
We are looking for a Supervising Engineering Technician to support the Principal Airport Engineer by supervising Engineering Department personnel. You will ensure that all resources are cost effectively deployed in order to ensure that the Airport Terminal Building and the wider airport infrastructure are maintained and repaired in accordance with accepted industry standards.
What will you be doing?

Develop and motivate Engineering Department staff, to ensure that the department delivers a safe, efficient and cost-effective maintenance and repair service, which provides excellent customer care

Lead and supervise by example; ensuring that staff are aware of the appropriate performance standards, the expected standards of behavior, and the expectations of our customers

Plan and flex staff rostering to meet with the needs of the business

Ensure that all safety and operational systems are maintained

Drive the activities of the engineering teams, to include planning, prioritising, and allocating tasks and overseeing the efficient deployment of resources in order to deliver an effective and efficient service

Keep records maintained for all Engineering Department activities

Coordinate the work of contractors in order to ensure that contracted work is completed on time, to specification, within budget and to the satisfaction of the departments’ customers, to include supervising minor capital works where appropriate

To support the Principal Airport Engineer in maintaining the Engineering Stores ensuring that adequate stocks are available at all times
- In conjunction with the Principal Airport Engineer, process all necessary and relevant engineering data, information requests, specifications, invoices/orders as required and ensure that departmental policies/procedures are maintained at all times
Key Skills & Experience

Experienced maintenance technician with a range of practical skills

Previous team leader or supervision experience

A calm, safety-conscious problem solver

Experience of working in a highly regulated environment would be an advantage

Strong communicator who can work well with multiple teams under pressure

Comfortable working in a range of environments, inside and out
