Mitie is currently seeking experienced security professionals to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for our contract with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This represents an excellent opportunity to join a professional and dedicated team that serves communities across the United Kingdom.
Position Overview
This role requires flexibility to travel, as duties will cover various DWP sites within the region (East Midlands).
A full UK driving licence is required.
Maintain a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.
Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential security threats.
Respond appropriately to emergencies or suspicious situations.
Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
Deliver a high standard of customer service and assist staff and visitors with any security-related matters.
Perform routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
Comply with Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.
Security and Health & Safety Responsibilities
Identify and immediately report any health and safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
Remain vigilant to any threats or changes within the work environment and take the appropriate action to minimise the risk of disruption, loss, or damage.
Exercise sound judgement and initiative by immediately escalating situations that appear to be escalating or threatening.
Maintain professional conduct when faced with difficult situations and challenging individuals.
Maintain accurate, detailed notebook entries as soon as possible following any incident, which will be used as part of the incident reporting process.
Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
Contact emergency services and the Communications Centre to report all incidents.
Essential Requirements
Previous security experience
SIA licence required; Door Supervisor licence preferred
Full UK driving licence required
