Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tail Lift Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of tail lift systems on commercial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of tail lifts, supporting logistics and transportation operations. Duties
- Install, assemble, and calibrate tail lift systems on a range of commercial vehicles using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure tail lifts operate safely and reliably.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults by interpreting schematics and technical diagrams; perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Fabricate custom components or modifications as needed to meet specific vehicle requirements.
- Solder electrical connections, repair wiring harnesses, and troubleshoot electrical issues with precision.
- Use heavy lifting equipment such as forklifts or excavators to handle large components safely during installation or repairs.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs, parts used, and diagnostic findings for each vehicle.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly of mechanical or electrical systems.
- LOLER and Crane Certificates
- Strong electrical experience with the ability to read schematics and troubleshoot wiring issues effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle systems, including tail lifts, hydraulics, and heavy-duty equipment.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools required for assembly and repair tasks.
- Experience working with heavy machinery such as forklifts or excavators is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to health and safety regulations.

Pay: £32,000.00-£37,500.00 per year
