We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic DESIGN ENGINEER to join our team!
This is an excellent opportunity to become involved in the design and development of innovative retail refrigeration equipment, working with colleagues and manufacturing partners in the UK and overseas.
What will the role involve?
- Designing products, assemblies and sheet metal components using SolidWorks 3D CAD
- Producing detailed engineering drawings and Bills of Materials to support manufacture and assembly
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation, SOPs, manuals and design change records
- Working closely with UK and overseas suppliers on design reviews, manufacturing queries and product improvements
- Supporting new product introduction projects and wider day-to-day engineering activities
- Ensuring designs are practical, compliant and suitable for both customer and manufacturing requirements
- Contributing to problem-solving and continuous improvement activities across the business
What are we looking for?
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Strong SolidWorks and sheet metal design experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience producing high-quality engineering drawings
- Familiarity with PDM systems and 2D CAD packages such as AutoCAD
- Good project management and organisational skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Experience within commercial refrigeration, refrigerated display cabinets or retail display equipment would be particularly beneficial. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and relevant refrigeration standards would also be advantageous.
Pay: Up to £38,000.00 per year
