must have a good understanding of nhbc standards. be working with a close knit team who have worked together for a long time. Plenty of work in for the right person, pay is fortnightly please no chancers as will be wasting yours and my time.
Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and stones accurately following technical drawings and plans
- Prepare mortar beds and joints to ensure stability and aesthetic appeal
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Measure and mark out work areas with precision
- Operate hand tools such as trowels, levels, chisels, and hammers effectively
- Utilise power tools including mixers, drills, and cutting equipment safely
- Assist with related tasks such as carpentry, roofing, or welding when required
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure project deadlines are met
Skills
- Proven experience in bricklaying, masonry, or similar trade roles
- Proficiency with hand tools essential for bricklaying tasks
- Knowledge of power tools used in construction environments
- Strong understanding of building techniques including carpentry, roofing, and welding (nice-to-have)
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret measurements accurately
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a team
