Do you have a natural affinity for animals and a passion for exceptional pet care? We're growing our team at Yorkshire Paws & Co's luxury boarding and grooming facility, and we're looking for multiple Animal Care Assistants to join us.
We're open to candidates with experience in any one of our service areas — cattery, dog boarding, or grooming — but if you're an all-rounder who can confidently work across all three, you'd be the perfect match.
At our 5-Star Licensed site, we offer spacious, purpose-built accommodation for both cats and dogs, along with a dedicated grooming salon — all designed to provide a calm, enriching environment where every pet feels relaxed and at home. Our team delivers personalised care, regular wellbeing checks and individual attention that reflects each pet's personality and routine.
Key Responsibilities (across one or more of the following areas, depending on your experience):
- Provide compassionate daily care for cats in our luxury cattery
- Support dog boarding routines, including feeding, exercise, enrichment and overnight wellbeing
- Assist with grooming services, including bathing, drying, brushing and supporting our professional groomers
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout accommodation, communal spaces and the grooming salon
- Monitor and record pets' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes promptly
- Support feeding routines and administer medication where needed
- Engage pets with gentle interaction and enrichment appropriate to their comfort level
- Assist with customer interactions, drop-offs and collections when required
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Loves working with cats and/or dogs and understands animal behaviour
- Has experience in cattery care, dog boarding, or grooming — ideally one of these, with multi-discipline experience being a real bonus
- Is reliable, patient, and attentive to detail
- Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and is comfortable working alone
- Can deliver calm, consistent care in a busy boarding and grooming environment
- Has good communication skills for internal teamwork and client enquiries
The Perfect Match:
While we're recruiting for multiple roles and welcome applications from specialists in any one area, our ideal candidate is a true all-rounder — someone who can move confidently between the cattery, the kennels and the grooming salon, supporting wherever they're needed most.
