Occupational Therapist – Specialist Education Setting
Location: Pilning
Salary: Actual £35,521–£42,150 (FTE £41,350–£49,067), dependent on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week – Term Time Only
A dynamic and inspiring specialist provision is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join their multi?disciplinary therapy team. The setting supports children and young people aged 7–19 with Autism and associated social and communication needs, offering tailored pathways from Key Stage 2 through to post 16.
The Role
This Senior/Specialist Occupational Therapist position plays a key role in shaping and embedding high?quality therapy across the school. You’ll work with students with complex needs—including Autism, sensory processing challenges and attachment related difficulties—supporting them to develop independence, confidence and functional life skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading on assessment, intervention and review for students with diverse and complex needs.
- Managing an autonomous caseload within a specialist education environment.
- Designing and delivering therapy programmes aligned to EHCPs and clinical assessments, including direct work, staff training and resource development.
- Working collaboratively with senior leaders to develop and enhance the therapy provision.
- Providing specialist guidance, modelling and training to colleagues across the multi?disciplinary team.
- Maintaining accurate, professional clinical records in line with HCPC and RCOT standards.
Experience/Qualifications
- A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current HCPC registration.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Experience supporting children and young people with complex needs including ASD, ADHD and SEMH.
- A genuine passion for improving outcomes and empowering young people.
