Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team on a zero hours contract basis. This role involves transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have previous delivery experience, a valid driver’s licence, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles, including vans or lorries, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Deliver goods promptly to designated addresses across the local area and beyond.
- Load and unload items, sometimes requiring heavy lifting, with care to prevent damage or injury.
- Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries, including obtaining signatures and updating delivery logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues.
- Conduct routine vehicle checks, report any maintenance needs, and keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times during loading, transit, and delivery processes.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role.
- Valid UK driver’s licence with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan efficient routes.
- Good communication skills for interacting professionally with customers and team members.
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks associated with loading/unloading goods.
- Experience working in warehouse environments or handling stock is beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and service.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
