About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Manager to support and lead a high-quality early years setting at our lovely Bonington House Nursery . This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate childcare professional to take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the management and operations of the nursery
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safeguarding requirements
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of early years practitioners
- Maintain high standards of care, learning, and development in line with the Early Years Framework
- Manage budgets, occupancy levels, and staff rotas effectively
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain inspection readiness
Requirements
- Minimum SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Childcare; Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Previous experience in a leadership or management role within a nursery setting
- Strong knowledge of Scottish childcare regulations and frameworks
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- A genuine passion for early years education and child development
- PVG membership (or willingness to obtain)
