Make a Difference Every Day
If you're a caring, reliable and compassionate individual looking for a rewarding role, we'd love to hear from you.
As a Learning Disability Support Worker, no two days are alike. You'll support individuals with learning disabilities to live fulfilling, meaningful and more independent lives.
At Sandy Lane, our approach is centred around person-centred support. We take the time to understand each individual's needs, preferences and goals, tailoring our support to help them achieve positive outcomes.
From celebrating small milestones to supporting someone to develop their confidence and independence, you'll play an important role in helping the people we support live the lives they choose.
As a Support Worker, you'll receive full training to provide a wide range of support, including:
-
Supporting individuals with their day-to-day activities
-
Providing personal care where required
-
Supporting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
-
Promoting independence, choice and confidence
-
Supporting individuals to access their local community
-
Building positive and trusting relationships
-
Encouraging communication and personal development
-
Supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals
-
Driving residents' disability vehicles when required
Sleep-in care means that you stay overnight at the service so you are available to support residents if an unforeseen need arises during the night.
You will have your own bed, clean bedding and a private area where you can sleep. Sleep-in shifts are designed around the expectation that you will normally be able to sleep through the night, although you may be required to wake and provide support if needed.
