Job Overview
We are a small, independent garage looking for a skilled, qualified and approachable mechanic to join our busy workshop. We carry out all manner of jobs including but not limited to; services, exhausts, tyres, 4-wheel laser alignment and brakes.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable and confident interacting with customers when needed and have extensive experience in using hand and power tools. The Vehicle Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics of vehicles to identify issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake repairs.
- Carry out repairs on various vehicle systems such as engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
- Minor paperwork required i.e. service sheets, job cards and parts used.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers regarding their vehicle's condition and necessary repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols while performing heavy lifting and operating equipment.
- Assist in welding tasks when required for vehicle repairs or modifications.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with scanning devices for diagnosing vehicle issues/ fault codes.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
