Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice.
The hours that we are looking to cover are 8:45-13:15 Monday/Wednesday/Thursday. Pay will start from £14.00 per hour. Commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate will support dentists during procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain high standards of hygiene and organisation within the clinic. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials prior to appointments
- Provide patients with pre- and post-treatment instructions, answering any questions they may have
- Maintain strict hygiene standards by sterilising instruments and ensuring clinical areas are clean and organised
- Record patient information accurately using IT systems, including treatment notes and medical histories
- Support with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the practice
- Communicate effectively with patients, providing reassurance and clear explanations of procedures
Qualifications
- Proven experience in patient care
- Good command of English, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with patients and team members
- Basic knowledge of nursing principles relevant to dental care
- Competent IT skills for managing electronic patient records and administrative tasks
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with patients and colleagues
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
- A recognised qualification in dental nursing or equivalent is desirable but not essential for entry-level candidates willing to undertake training
