Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACD considered too) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Review and verify prescriptions prepared by pharmacy technicians for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal and safety standards
- Ensure all medication labels, dosages, and instructions are correct before dispensing to patients
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists to resolve any discrepancies or issues identified during the verification process
- Assist in maintaining accurate medication records and documentation for audit purposes
- Support medication administration processes by confirming proper medication delivery to patients when applicable
- Provide excellent patient care by answering medication-related questions and offering guidance under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace that adheres to safety and regulatory guidelines
Qualifications
- Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of medication dispensing procedures
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and patient care practices
- Certification as a pharmacy technician (e.g., Certified Pharmacy Technician credential) is preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure accuracy in all tasks
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and precision
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare professionals and patients
