Job Overview
We are looking for an organised and customer focused Optical Lab Administrator to join our busy optical laboratory. The successful candidate will communicate with customers by telephone, email, and face to face, process optical prescriptions using our internal software, handle customer enquiries and orders, and liaise with suppliers. This role requires excellent communication skills, good IT ability, and a professional attitude. Attention to detail and accuracy are our highest priorities. No optical experience is required, as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with customers by telephone, email, and in person
- Enter optical prescriptions accurately into the internal software system
- Process and monitor customer orders
- Handle day-to-day customer enquiries and provide updates
- Liaise with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and product queries
- Maintain accurate customer and order records
- Ensure all information is entered correctly and efficiently
- Support the optical laboratory and administration team with general administrative duties
Requirements
- Previous customer service experience
- Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy (this is our highest priority)
- Good Microsoft Office and general IT skills
- Good numeracy and maths skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Professional, reliable, and positive attitude
- No previous optical experience is required – full training will be provided
Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
