Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Front of House Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our busy pub/restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and extensive experience in food service environments. This role involves supervising team members, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. The successful applicant will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests while managing the smooth running of shifts.
Duties
- Lead and supervise front of house staff during shifts, ensuring efficient service delivery
- Oversee serving processes to maintain quality standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Manage customer enquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and enhance guest satisfaction
- Coordinate schedules, delegate tasks, and monitor performance to foster a motivated work environment
- Support training programmes for new staff members, promoting professional development
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area throughout shifts
- Assist in opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and stock checks
- Uphold hospitality standards by creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality environments, ideally with supervisory or team management responsibilities
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production
- Previous experience in supervising teams within a restaurant or hotel setting is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving and guest relations
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and customers
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends as required
