At Progression Services, we provide personalised, one-to-one and small group support for young people who are currently struggling in their educational setting. Our approach combines high expectations with high levels of support, adapting provision to meet individual needs and enabling young people to re-engage, make meaningful progress and exceed that which they thought possible.
We bring out the best in each individual by:
- supporting them to recognise and overcome barriers to learning
- addressing gaps in knowledge, skills and understanding
- re-engaging them in education in a way that leads to sustained progress and achievement
We are a reflective and ambitious team, committed to maximising progress and supporting positive change. We value inclusion and are driven by a genuine desire to make a difference to the lives of the young people we support.
Our work is underpinned by evidence-informed practice to ensure the approaches we use have the greatest possible impact on progress.
We focus on progress across academic learning and wider development - including social, emotional and behavioural development and independence - ensuring young people are prepared for qualifications and their next steps.
Our Vision for Progression Services
- Share the high expectations of schools that young people achieve GCSEs or equivalents. (As an approved exam centre, we enable young people to work towards and complete their qualifications with us).
- Ensure that all young people are able to read at the earliest opportunity
- Enable young people who have previously struggled to access education to self-regulate and manage their social, emotional, mental health and physical needs in and out of school
Enable young people to become:
- open-minded thinkers who make informed choices throughout their lives
- respectful and responsible citizens who contribute positively to society, uphold British Values and understand Protected Characteristics
- confident individuals who live healthy, safe and fulfilling lives
- aspirational learners who make good progress and achieve more than they thought possible
- kind, resilient and independent individuals
Progression Services is expanding and we are looking for committed, reflective professionals to join our team and support young people across Devon.
