Family owned flooring wholesaler based in Isleworth TW7 is looking for a colleague to join their delivery team driving an 18 tonne rigid.
The majority of deliveries will be in and around London, including Central London, and the Thames Valley.
The position is full time and permanent.
Usual working hours are 07:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday, on a job-and-knock basis.
Some Saturday work may be required.
You must be physically fit and able to lift and drop stock manually.
Demonstrable Class 2 driving proficiency and experience is mandatory.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Checking vehicle daily to ensure it is roadworthy and in a good state of repair
- Actively participating in keeping the vehicle in a good mechanical condition
- Ensuring your vehicle is clean and tidy, inside and out
- Loading and unloading a variety of flooring related items into and from your vehicle
- Delivering carpets, floorcoverings and related materials to flooring shops, manned/unmanned storage units, building sites and, occasionally, to residential addresses
- Being conscientious, courteous and reliable at all times
To qualify for the job, you need to have:
- Valid class C driving licence
- Valid CPC card
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 2 years verifiable previous experience of driving HGV's
- Ability to take pride in your work
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Good accuracy and organisational skills
- A positive attitude
- Ability to behave in a respectful and courteous manner at all times
- No previous DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements/disqualifications
- Right to work in the UK
