About EBI Learning
EBI Learning is an alternative education provision supporting young people who may find mainstream education challenging. We provide a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment where learners can rebuild confidence, develop essential skills and progress towards further education, employment or training.
We are seeking a committed, patient and enthusiastic Learning Facilitator with a particular focus on Functional Skills English.
The role
The successful candidate will support the planning and delivery of engaging Functional Skills English sessions. You will help learners improve their reading, writing, speaking, listening and communication skills through individual and small-group teaching. Learning activities must be adapted to learners’ starting points, abilities and additional needs.
Main responsibilities
· Deliver and support Functional Skills English from Entry Level to Level 2.
· Plan engaging lessons and practical learning activities.
· Complete initial and diagnostic assessments and identify learners’ starting points.
· Develop individual learning plans and set clear, achievable targets.
· Monitor learner progress, attendance, engagement and achievement.
· Prepare learners for Functional Skills assessments and support assessment readiness.
· Provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records.
· Support learners with social, emotional or behavioural needs and SEND.
· Promote confidence, resilience, employability and independent learning.
· Create a calm, safe and respectful learning environment.
· Work effectively with colleagues, parents, carers and referring professionals.
· Follow safeguarding, health and safety, equality and data-protection procedures.
Person specification
Essential
· A minimum of grade 4 GCSE English Language/Level 2 English or an equivalent qualification.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· The ability to build positive and professional relationships.
· A patient, flexible and non-judgemental approach.
· Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
· An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
· Confidence in managing challenging behaviour positively and consistently.
Working hours and pay
The role is available for 18 to 30 hours per week, with the final working pattern agreed with the successful applicant. The rate of pay is £15.00 per hour.
