Housekeeper – Part-Time
Company description
One Cat Farm is a small, family-run holiday business with four hand-built wood cabins set within a nature reserve, just 5 minutes from Aberaeron in West Wales. We provide peaceful, nature-focused stays for guests looking to reconnect with nature without compromising on comfort.
Job description
We are looking for a reliable and conscientious housekeeper to join our friendly One Cat Farm team.
Our cabins are set within a beautiful outdoor environment, so you will need to be comfortable working outside in all kinds of Welsh weather and enjoy walking. This is an important part of the role, as you will be walking between our cabins and facilities throughout your working day.
The role will primarily involve cleaning and preparing cabins and guest facilities to a very high standard. Our guests have high expectations, and we take great pride in meeting them.
We are looking for someone with:
- A strong eye for detail and high standards of cleanliness
- A methodical and organised approach to work
- The ability to work efficiently and use your initiative
- A friendly and approachable manner
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work independently and take responsibility
There will be some guest contact, and you will work alongside other members of the team during your shifts, so being friendly, helpful and comfortable communicating with guests is important. You will also be working independently at times, so we are looking for someone who is trustworthy and takes pride in their work.
Hours
Part-time: 9.30am–4pm
- Mondays and Fridays every week
- Some Wednesdays as required- generally every week in high season
- No weekend work
- You must be available to work during school holidays and bank holidays
Pay & benefits
£12.75 per hour, rising to £13.75 per hour on successful completion of a one-month training/probationary period, plus holiday pay.
We like to treat our staff well and pay them fairly. Benefits include:
- Paid lunch break
- Annual bonus for hardworking staff
- Full training provided
- Friendly, fun and caring working environment
- No weekend work
- One Cat Farm closes throughout December, giving staff almost a month off (with paid retainer for staff) before we reopen for the New Year
- Free Parking on site
- Company Pension
Experience
No previous housekeeping experience is necessary as full training will be provided.
A good eye for detail, a practical approach, reliability and the ability to use your initiative are more important to us than previous experience.
Requirements
Due to our rural location and limited public transport, your own transport is essential.
You will need to be comfortable with a physically active role involving walking between cabins, cleaning, making beds and working outdoors in all weather.
We are looking for someone who genuinely takes pride in doing a job well and enjoys being part of a small, friendly team.
