Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent Bakery Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our bakery environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all areas are sanitised, equipment is kept in optimal condition, and the workspace adheres to health and safety regulations. This role is vital in supporting the smooth operation of our bakery, contributing to a safe and pleasant working environment for all staff. Previous experience in food preparation or hospitality settings is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Contracted hours: Monday - Friday 3pm - 6pm. (3 hours daily)
Responsibilities
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed in accordance with the agreed cleaning checklist, maintaining consistency, quality standards, and compliance with site requirements at all times.
- Clean and sanitise all bakery flooring, walls, back of house areas & offices
- Assist with waste disposal and ensure proper segregation of recyclable materials.
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent contamination or accidents in line with Food Hygiene regulations.
- Ensure cleaning schedules are adhered to and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain organised storage of cleaning supplies and equipment, including ordering stock when levels drop.
Skills
- Basic understanding of food hygiene standards and safety protocols.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments such as restaurants, hotels, or catering services is desirable but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations or culinary experience can be beneficial.
- Strong work ethic with reliability and punctuality.
